What is Pam's photographic style?
Pam's
style is fresh and contemporary mixed with a little urban edge. She specializes in reflecting her client's personalities
in the images she creates of them, so her non-traditional approach to portraiture makes her work special and unique.
In what way is Pam's photography differant from going to a traditional portrait studio?
When Pam is commissioned
to photograph your wedding or portraiture, it will be a unique and rewarding experience. Pam believes that "Love is in
the Details" and strives to get to know each of her clients to ensure their unique personalities are reflected in their
images. In fact, most of her clients consider Pam their "family photographer for life" and she's had the honor
of photographing many of their treasured life events. After you are graciously welcomed into her
plush home studio, you will be invited to relax and have a beverage, take your time in getting ready in the studio's fully
stocked powder room and then gently and expertly guided through the portraiture porcess. Within minutes, you will find
that you are feeling relaxed and having fun and you won't want the session to end.
With portraiture, whether in the studio
or on location, her relaxed manner and belief that everyone is truly beautiful is apparent as she works with you to accentuate
your best features with lighting, posture, and posing. With her wedding photography, she deftly anticipates shots due to her
sports photography background and strategically positions herself for the best photographic perspective. In both
cases, Pam's years of digital graphic design and enhancement is sure to produce artistic images that will be treasured as
family heirlooms for generations.
When should I schedule my session?
In order to provide the best possible
quality experience for each client, Pam limits the number of sessions she makes available on a monthly basis. She recommends
booking your session as early as possible to ensure availability.
What can I expect after I schedule my session?
Once you schedule your session and reserve
time on Pam's calendar by paying your deposit, Pam will schedule a personal consultation with you. The consutation can
be done at the studio, your place of work, a Starbucks, or any other convenient location. During the consultation, Pam wil
try to get a sense of your personality, your photographic preferences, what type of images you envision, and whether you are
interested in album design, portraits, framed prints, or loose prints. The consultation meeting is important because
Pam then uses that information to plan your photo shoot and to compose your images while she photographs you.
What should I wear for my portrait
session?
Clothing
is a very important consideration when planning your portrait session. This isn't your grandmother's portrait studio
though, so don't be afraid to dress with color! Your clothing should complement you and reflect your individual style.
With group portraits, it is best to color coordinate but not match exactly. Be sure not to wear conflicting our loud
prints such as bold stripes or floral prints. Layered clothing works best for photo shoots on location especially.
In addition, props are perfect for added interest in a photo. Items to consider are hats, scarves, an umbrella, a jacket,
chunky jewelry, a long necklace, an instrument, reading glasses (held in the hand), leaning up against a vintage car, a motorcycle,
a loved pet, etc. When in doubt, bring lots of different things and Pam will help you choose.
How long do sessions typically last?
While you are charged
for only 1 hour or a 1.5 hour session, the actual photo shoot generally lasts between 1 to 3 hours depending on the type of
shoot (newborn, young children, group portrait, boudoir, etc), how much coaching is needed for posing, the number of clothing
changes, and various lighting adjustments.
What locations are available for sessions?
You may choose from either a studio portrait
session or a location photo shoot. Pam will discuss different location options with you during your personal consultation
with her before your session to ensure the surroundings you choose enhance the beauty of your images.
What time of day is best for location
shoots?
The
best time of day for location shoots is the first couple of hours after sun rise or one to two hours before suset. The
natural lighting during these hours is perfect for photography. However, Pam will work with your schedule and
use reflectors or fill flash as needed.
Okay, I had my photo shoot, now what?
In most cases, your images will be ready to view in approximately
10 business days or less. Custom album designs typically require a minimum of 15 business days. When your images and custom
designs are completed, you will receive a call to schedule a convenient time for your sales presentation at the studio.
During your presentation, you will view your images in the studio's presentation room using state of the art software that
projects your images in actual size on a large screen. Pam will assist you in narrowing down the number of images you
like until you arrive at your final choice for purchase.
Why does Pam only show approximately 30 proofs when she takes
so many pictures at our session?
Pam chooses the very best images from your session to process and share with you. Only
images that meet her exacting quality standards make the final cut. Rest assured that she will show you the very best
from your session.
Will I see color and black & white versions of all my photos?
No, not necessarily. Pam will use
her artistic judgement to decide which photos will look best in color, black & white, or digitally enhanced using a variety
of effects. If you want to see a particular image processed differently, simply bring it to Pam's attention.
How long does it take to receive my order once I make my purchase?
In most cases, your prints will be ready for pick-up within one week from
the time you place and pay for your order during the sales presentation.
Can I scan and/or make copies of my portraits myself?
No. Printing, copying,
downloading, or scanning images without written consent is strictly prohibited as the images are protected by federal copyright
laws.
